Gemini 3: Amalfi Coast Luxury Yacht Charter This August

·4 min read

There are coastlines, and then there is the Amalfi Coast. Frankly, few stretches of water anywhere in the Mediterranean can match it — the sheer cliffs dropping into cobalt sea, the pastel villages clinging to hillsides as if by sheer willpower, the scent of lemon groves drifting offshore. And right now, we have a rare opening aboard one of our favourite Italy yacht charter vessels to experience all of it at the height of summer.

Gemini 3 — a 26-metre Maiora built in 2002 and comprehensively transformed through refits in 2022 and 2023 — has availability across the 10th to 31st of August. That's peak Mediterranean season, and peak Amalfi season specifically. Windows like this don't linger.

A Yacht Remade from the Keel Up

The refit wasn't cosmetic. Gemini 3 received an entirely new interior design, a full repaint, and — perhaps most importantly for those who've ever felt a yacht rolling uncomfortably at anchor off Positano — a gyroscopic stabilisation system. That means smooth passages along the coast and genuinely restful nights in the bay. It's the kind of detail that separates a comfortable charter holiday from a truly memorable one.

She accommodates up to ten guests across four cabins: a master suite aft with a king-size bed, a forward VIP cabin with a queen, and two twin cabins amidships — each with a Pullman berth, making them excellent for families travelling with children. The crew of four is, by all accounts, young, professional, and exactly the sort you'd hope to find aboard a private yacht charter of this calibre.

Outdoor Living on the Amalfi Coast

An Amalfi Coast charter is lived almost entirely outdoors, and Gemini 3 is built for it. The aft deck hosts a bespoke dining table seating all ten guests — imagine lingering lunches with burrata and chilled Greco di Tufo while Ravello glitters on the hillside above you. The flybridge adds a second alfresco dining option, plus shaded lounging areas for those slower, hotter midday hours when the light turns almost white and the only sensible thing to do is recline with something cold in hand.

The Itinerary: Naples, Capri, Positano and Beyond

Based out of Marina di Stabia — just south of Naples, perfectly positioned for the Gulf — Gemini 3 gives you immediate access to some of Italy's most iconic waters. Capri is an obvious first port of call; the Faraglioni rocks at golden hour are the kind of thing you'll still be talking about years later. From there, the Amalfi Coast unfolds south: Positano with its stacked houses and heaving beach bars, the quieter coves around Praiano, the dramatic headland of Punta Campanella separating the Gulf of Naples from the Gulf of Salerno.

Push further south and the Cilento coastline opens up — far fewer superyachts, far more raw beauty. Or head north toward Ischia and Procida, the latter still relatively undiscovered despite its moment in the spotlight as European Capital of Culture. The flexibility of a private yacht charter means none of this is fixed — the itinerary is whatever you want it to be, day by day.

Why August, Why Now

August on the Amalfi Coast is electric. The water is at its warmest, the evenings go on forever, and the towns — busy, yes, but gloriously so — hum with the particular energy that only Italian summer can produce. Getting off the land and onto the water is, frankly, the only way to truly enjoy it; you arrive by sea at your own pace, anchor in coves inaccessible to anyone on foot, and watch the tourist crowds from a perfectly comfortable distance.

A luxury gulet charter of this quality — ten guests, a dedicated crew of four, gyroscopic stabilizers, two alfresco dining decks, and one of the world's great coastlines — is exactly what we mean when we talk about a luxury charter holiday done properly. The 10th to 31st of August won't stay open. If Gemini 3 has caught your eye, get in touch with our team and we'll take it from there.
